The Project Museu Nacional Vive brings together Brazilian and international institutions that are engaged in rebuilding the Museu Nacional.
Result of technical cooperation between the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Vale Cultural Institute, the Project bets on social mobilization and partnership articulation to return the Museum to society.

The Project has platinum sponsorship from BNDES(Brazilian Development Bank), Bradesco and Vale; silver sponsorship from Itaú; bronze sponsorship from Eletrobras; support from Rede Itaú, the Ministry of Education (MEC), Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), National Congress and the Federal Government, through the Culture Incentive Law. It is guided by the principles of transparency and participation; and has a partnership with institutions such as the Associação Amigos do Museu Nacional (SAMN).
